MARK WINTERS

ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Mark and I'm a graphic designer. I specialize in digital ads, but I have a variety of different artistic interests including but not limited to illustration, linocut printmaking, and html coding. Take a look around my website for more examples of my work!
I graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a bachlor's degree in graphic design. With 7+ years of experience in the design space, I bring a fresh and unique vision to every project I work on. I've created brand identities for clients who had nothing but a simple html website and a plain text logo, transforming them into businesses with eyecatching and striking visuals. Graphic design not only a profession for me, but a passion. I strive to always learn new programs and discover creative solutions to design problems.
I believe a good designer has to be able to accept feedback on their work and accept it with grace. Criticism plays a major role in perfecting a design, so a designer that refuses to budge on a critique will find that their work suffers from stagnation. A good designer must also have a problem solving mind. To me, graphic design is just a puzzle; how can I put these elements together to catch people's attention and keep it? Which font best represents the client's business? How do I keep all of this cohesive and on-brand? Being able to break those questions down into bite size puzzle pieces allows a graphic designer to not only make a good design, but understand why it's a good design. And, of course, a good designer must have a strong sense for visuals and aesthetics. All the information on a design can be correct and important, but if it looks boring, no one will want to look at it, much less read it. A good designer knows how to use fonts, colors, and hierarchy to effectively convey information (correctly!) while retaining a clean, cohesive, and legible look.
